The Williamsburg Art of Cookery or Accomplish'd Gentlewoman's Companion
Being a Collection of Upwards of Five Hundred of the Most Ancient and Approv'd Recipes in Virginia COOKERY
by Mrs. Helen Bullock
August Dietz and Son, Richmond. 1938
Hardbound, pp.276
Includes insert A Compact German Grammar, Thrift Press, 1936

A fascinating compilation cookbook originally published as a tourist item for Williamsburg Virginia visitors.  Based on the 1742 Cookbook by William Parks, The Compleat Housewife, or Accomplish'd Gentlewoman's Companion with 'new' illustrations by Elmo Jones. The book has been reprinted numerous times, this is a first edition that was designed to appear as an 18th century text.

Good/Very Good Condition with a nick at top of spine.
Previous owner's name in pencil.

The best essay I have found on this title is by Marie Pellisier here.
