Comtoise Wall Clock by Studio Job for Alessi
Alessi
Designed by Studio Job for Alessi, 2016.
The Comtoise clock was designed by Studio Job (Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel). Comtoise is a clock whose name and design recall a style of clock made in France from the late 1600s onwards. It is a contemporary reinterpretation of this traditional clock type.
Colored images in relief, seemingly cheerful little details, are in fact symbols that transmit, like in other works by the designers, the many faces of the tension between good and evil.
Tinplate.
