Johansson began as a designer at AGA in Stockholm, Sweden, and came to Orrefors in 1969, where he designed bowls, vases, candlesticks, and sculptures. His work is associated with clean shapes and cut crystal that combines contemporary style with a sense of tradition. Works by Jan Johansson can be seen at the Linköping Cathedral and Vadstena Abbey in Sweden.
