Kraka vase designed by Sven Palmquist. The Kraka was invented in 1944 on basis of the the Graal technique. Small controlled bubbles form the fish net pattern. The colors are fading to blue. Made around the1950's for Orrefors. Signed: Orrefors, Kraka No. 357, Sven Palmquist 

Great condition with minor wear and scratching to the vase.

Sven Palmqvist (1906-84) worked for Orrefors in Sweden from 1941 to 1971. As well as producing etched glass of high quality in the 1940s he went on to design a number of ranges often deploying new glass techniques such as the Kraka, Fuga and Ravenna series. He was a major figure in the development of Swedish glass.
