10 Springs Sardine by Gonçalo Viana for Bordallo Pinheiro
Product Description:
Each year, Bordallo Pinheiro invites artists to reinterpret Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro’s iconic ceramic sardine, originally created in the 19th century. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this project, and artist Gonçalo Viana was invited to create a sardine celebrating this milestone. To Gonçalo, these ceramic sardines are like winter flowers, providing color even when the world outside greys during the colder months. He called this piece '10 Springs' and decorated the sardine with 10 flowers, one for each of the project's 10 years.
Sardines represent the Portuguese Coast.
