The artist Moita Macedo described himself as a “writer of paintings,” and the work that inspires the latest piece in the Contemporary Artists Project, A Glimpse of the City, belongs to the final phase of his artistic career. Like all of his creations, A Glimpse of the City reflects the artist’s own journey: the colors and forms of his native floodplains, together with the seas he crossed, emerge with vibrancy and movement in every brushstroke, transforming memory into paint.

About the Company:
The Vista Alegre porcelain factory was founded in 1824, in Ílhavo, part of the Aveiro district (near the sea, in central Portugal). The company was the product of the heart and mind of a 19th century Portuguese entrepreneur and visionary, João Ferreira Pinto Basto. Throughout its history, the Vista Alegre brand has been closely linked to the cultural life of Portugal, though it has maintained a high level of international renown as well, exporting its products to more than 60 countries. Their products are used in some of Europe's finest hotels and restaurants.
