Alessandro Stick, Set of 2 Chopsticks, by Alessandro Mendini for Alessi
The blurring of borders has brought about an enormous change in food culture: local traditions have been joined by cuisines from other countries, and this mixture has created the need to enrich the range of classic tableware with ideas from different cultures. This is the case with the spread of oriental cuisine, which has brought the use of chopsticks to the tables of half the world, ideal for savoring the dishes of this rich gastronomic tradition. The double pair Anna Stick and Alessandro Stick comes from the archive of unrealized projects by Alessandro Mendini: ebony chopsticks decorated with a cast steel figure representing the Milanese architect's two iconic figures. This includes a fish-shaped table stand, also made of micro-cast steel, which refers directly to one of the many elements formalized in Mendinigraph, Mendini's design alphabet.
Set composed of two ebony chopsticks and stand in 18/10 stainless steel.
