A pair of English Japonisme Vases, c. 1885.Â
These ceramic vases, impressed ENGLAND, were more than likely influenced by Christopher Dresser's bamboo work for Minton. Japanese design became very popular in the mainstream due to the 'opening' of Japan and the importing of art beginning in 1858.
Due to the handmade nature of these vases there are variations in appearance and height. The stands are not original to the pair.Â
Dimensions:Â 7.5" x 4.25" (approx.)
