Classic Water Tea Kettle by Michael Graves for Alessi
The Water Kettle by Michael Graves was first produced by Alessi in 1985. An instant success, the kettle is now in a number of museum collections and spawned a host of similar designs by Graves and others. The original blue was designed purposefully using the Graves signature blue as a "cool" color, indicating that the handle will not get hot, whereas the bird is red, a "hot" color, indicating,"don't touch."
Made of mirror-polished 18/10 Stainless Steel with handle in PMMA and bird whistle. Note: Please use medium heat when using kettle. High BTU stoves will often 'burn' stainless steel and melt the birdie. As with all kettles, please ensure that there is enough water in kettle to provide sufficient pressure to make whistle work.
Suitable for use with induction stoves, electric or gas ranges.
Dimensions: 8.75" x 8.75"
Capacity: 2 qt 3.75 oz.
