Darwin Voyage of the Beagle Brazil Teacup, Saucer, & Plate Set by Wedgwood
Product Description:
From the Voyage of the Beagle Collection...
Charles Darwin, a descendant of Josiah Wedgwood, was initially discouraged by his father, Robert Darwin, from joining the HMS Beagle's crew. However, it was Charles' uncle, Josiah Wedgwood II, who penned a letter to Robert, urging him to support and fund his son's journey, a journey that would significantly shape the future. This intended two-year trip transformed into a grand five-year voyage around the globe. This remarkable expedition played a vital role in shaping Charles Darwin into an exceptional naturalist and served as the muse for this collection.
