Gabriel Klasmer is an Israeli artist living in London. He gained a PhD at the Royal College of Art in London dedicated to the history and state of the art of monochrome painting. Another area of his research is the creation of a series of mechanical devices that replace the human hand as a working tool. Klasmer has exhibited in numerous galleries and museums in Israel and abroad. He has received several awards including the prestigious Sandberg Prize from the Israel Museum in Jerusalem in 1990. His work is featured in the main collections of Israeli museums, the MoMA Museum of Modern Art in New York, and many private collections. In 1996 he represented the state of Israel at the São Paulo Art Biennial. Klasmer was Senior Tutor at the Royal College of Art in London and began working with the Department of Industrial Design in 1998.
