The Ichendorf Milano Birds: Windproof Candle Holder with Blue Bird was designed by Tomoko Mizu, a Japanese industrial designer. This new Ichendorf Milano's Birds collection consists of a variety of glassware and a few candle holders that can transform your dining table into a magnificent glowing woods scene full of wonder with colorful bird features. The designer put her poetics in the project with the aim of being consistent with both the materials and the production processes.
Recognized as a symbol of freedom and prosperity in different cultures since ancient times, these birds aspire to bring peace and serenity to indoor spaces. The Windproof candle holder features a domed shape crafted from transparent glass with grooved and ruffled edges. Every candle should be lucky enough to find itself a home like this one, as it comes from vast imaginations and was handmade by talented craftspeople. Consisting of flame-worked borosilicate glass, it has an adorable little blue bird perched inside.

About the Designer:
Tomoko Mizu has been a designer in Italy for several years, after obtaining her master's degree in industrial design and training in the intricacies of a Japanese watchmaking company. This industrial niche can easily be seen in her projects as her consistent poetics blend well with the functionality of each design, both with the material and production processes.

Founded in Cologne in the early 20th Century, Ichendorf moved production and their design studio to Milan in 1990. The firm specializes in pushing the aesthetic boundaries of crystal and borosilicate glass, aspiring to the creation of modern designed objects.
