Il Viaggio di Nettuno Sea Blue Mug, 13.5 oz. by Luke Edward Hall for Richard Ginori
Product Description:
Il Viaggio di Nettuno Sea Blue Mug by Luke Edward Hall for Richard Ginori
Inspired by Luke Edward Hall’s love of Greco-Roman mythology, and particularly Neptune, the Roman god of the sea, and his wife Salacia, the collection represents an unconventional vision of the art of the table, a dialogue between classical and modern. Drawings of the gods decorate plates, placeholders, cups and vases, and bold, unexpected colors infuse the chinaware with personality.
With Il Viaggio di Nettuno collection, Richard Ginori reinterprets the table in a modern vein with uniquely designed objects that are veritable artistic installations.

His colorful and lively aesthetic is inspired by a love for history, for beauty and for the sense of play. After working for two years in an interior design studio in London, Luke founded his studio in the fall of 2015 and, since then, has carried out several art and interior design projects. In addition to his creations in the last 3 years, Luke has collaborated with various companies and institutions such as Burberry, Christie's and the Royal Academy of Arts.
Recent projects created by Luke include Berry Bros. & Rudd's labels for limited edition wine bottles, embroidered slippers for Stubbs & Wootton, table textiles for Summerill & Bishop, the jewels for Lucy Folk and the collection of ceramics and men's clothing for the Le Sirenuse hotel in Positano. A versatile artist, Luke exhibited his works in London and collaborated with several international magazines such as Cabana, House & Garden and Pleasure Garden. Since March 2019 he has edited a column in the Financial Times, answering readers' questions on aesthetics, interior design and lifestyle. Vogue.com called him "the prodigy of the world of interior design".
Richard Ginori was founded in 1735 near Florence, Italy. The Twentieth Century brought most of the current product designs by the company, tied with the pre-and-post-war explosion of Italian fashion and design, with notable designers such as Gio Ponti taking the firm in new and notable directions. In 2013 the firm was acquired by Gucci.
