Rosenthal's Mesh dinnerware by Gemma Bernal was inspired by conversations with chefs and culinary schools. This colorful dinnerware is notable for its delicate, bamboo-like mesh relief. This decor was tested by the Rosenthal Institute for Material Technology (IWT).

Since 1968, Gemma Bernal has designed industrially. She was awarded a masters in ephemeral architecture at UB in Barcelona, and later a masters in urban furniture design from CEU University of San Pablo in Valencia. She approaches design as a collaboration with companies in order to offer unique, competitive, and useful products. In 1998 she created Gemma Bernal & Associates, which later became Gemma Bernal design. Bernal is well awarded, including the Delta Gold ADI-FAD, and multiple 1st Design Prizes of the International Fair of Ceramics, Glass and Decorative Elements.
