Jasper Morrison was born 1959 in London, where he also grew up. Studied at the Kingston Polytechnic Design School, London, at the Royal College of Art and at Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. 1992 Bundespreis for product design, plus other
awards. Works in many international museums. Designing for Rosenthal since 1995. Since opening his design studios in London in 1986, Morrison has carried out commissions for numerous internationally renowned companies. The design for the new tram for Expo 2000 in Hannover came from his studio. Morrison’s
creations never overtly demand attention, but rather present themselves as deceptively simple, skilfully reduced to essentials. Despite their individuality they appear familiar, as if they have always been around.
