An LED re-edition of the 1983 classic “Bankers Lamp” by Memphis-design maestro Ettore Sottsass features variable white light, a black resin body, green synthetic diffuser and aluminum.

Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007) is one of the most important designers and architects of the 20th Century. A major player in the development of modern Italian design, Sottsass questioned the idea of function and beauty through his work, especially with the Memphis group. Many of his designs have strong geometric form and color. The Pausania is an updating of the classic Bankers Lamp- and an updated version of his own Bankers Lamp- this time as an LED. The simplicity of the design is misleading- Sottsass shows a careful coordination of multiple forms and variance in materials- as well as utilization of the classic Bankers' green while adding some trademark form and nuances typical of his designs. The lamp appears as a temple to both modern design and work ethic.
