Savoy Glass Vase, 3.75" by Alvar Aalto for Iittala
Customer Return. In Original Box. Box is damaged.
Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936 for Karhula, the vase was based on a woman's dress and formed by the traditional manner of blowing glass into a wet wooden mold.
The vase became known as the Savoy vase due to it being included in a project for the Savoy restaurant in Helsinki. It also was included in the Paris Exhibition that same year.
