The No. 11 Senese Italian Regional Knife by Berti is a special knife from the Fiorentino family. Like the Fiorentino style, this knife has a ''scimitar'' or ''French'' blade that was in production until the mid 1950’s. The great success of this particular model is due to the fact that apart from being extremely light and elegant, it is robust and has a keen cutting edge. The main difference with this knife is that It is made without a without the band or button on the handle.
This regional knife was originally forged in a small town located in the Tuscany region of Italy. Due to the large quantity of farmers in this town, this knife was primarily used for farm work in the fields.
Regional knives are pocket knives that have a distinct style based on what region the knife comes from. There are 20 regions in Italy, and each region produces a different knife style.
Berti knives are handmade in Italy by skilled artisans with the technique used since 1895. The knives are forged out of stainless steel and are made with the highest craftsmanship. Berti was founded as an artisan workshop by David Berti in 1895, and today, under the guidance of his great grandson Andrea, it continues its production in the Tuscan countryside, 25 miles north of Florence, Italy.
