Sole Limited Edition Pen by Alessandro Mendini for Acme Studio
Product Description:
The "Sole" Limited Edition roller ball pen was designed by Milan based Italian designer Alessandro Mendini. Since "sole" means sun in Italian, the design uses a bright yellow lacquer background and red suns with a hole drilled into the center of each one. "ALESSANDRO MENDINI FOR ACME" is laser engraved on the clip. The edition number is placed on the top of the cap. Only 500 pens of this design were made.
ALESSANDRO MENDINI, architect, was born in Milan in 1931. He has authored books, seminars and design exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He is a member of the scientific committee of Domus Academy, International School of Design. Mendini has work in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and in the archives of Parma University (Italy) and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. In 1979 he won the “Compasso d’Oro” design prize. He also designed the Alessi house with Aldo Rossi and Ettore Sottsass.
