A fascinating compilation cookbook originally published as a tourist item for Williamsburg Virginia visitors. Based on the 1742 Cookbook by William Parks, The Compleat Housewife, or Accomplish'd Gentlewoman's Companion with 'new' illustrations by Elmo Jones. The book has been reprinted numerous times, this is a first edition that was designed to appear as an 18th century text.
