Luciano Gaspari served as art director for Salviati from the period of 1955-1968. Considered some of the golden years of Murano art glass, Gaspari was known for his use of color and form- using such techniques as solid glass, sommerso (layered), and corroso (corroded, generally with acid). Known also as a skilled painter, Gaspari's works in both glass and canvas are on display in numerous museums and collections, including the Guggenheim. He passed in 2007.
